RTVE was committed to having a strong presence on the web and thus making it easier for their viewers and listeners to access their content. To succeed in this objective they needed a platform tough enough to withstand peaks in demand that would also be able to accommodate the enormous volume of content in the public corporation's archives.
In view of RTVE’s ambitious approach, Flumotion offered them a platform allowing for live broadcasting of TVE 1, Channel 2, the 24H Channel and their radio stations. Flumotion’s solution also allows for live broadcasting to be deactivated for programs that aren't licensed to be broadcast online and transcoding of their à la carte television service's content.

Convinced of the opportunities generated by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the second most-watched TV channel in Spain was looking for an end-to-end solution that would promise them quality broadcasting with no points of failure, that was inexpensive, and that could also integrate advanced services of publicity and digital rights management.

Emprendedores TV

Emprendedores TV is a new project by Banesto’s Society and Technology Foundation for making interesting business initiatives known. To be able to get it started, they needed a multiformat solution that would also work with different devices — in other words, a comprehensive solution that would allow them to publish videos on the Internet easily and at the same time make this content available to users of other environments like Windows Media Center, Silverlight and iPhone.
Moreover, publishing this content required an appropriate medium, so we developed a WebTV together with our partner OasysSoft. It allows you create a TV channel on the Internet in a very simple way; it's a turnkey solution that includes both the public aspect of the web and the site administration. Among other functionalities, this application makes it possible to generate thumbnails when publishing videos, to configure programming grids and to include advertisement.

In Catalonia, Grup Flaix's radio stations Flaix FM and Flash Bac are among the most listened to by the 18 to 35 age group. At first the group opted for P2P technology, but they soon realized that they needed a more flexible solution that wouldn't require anything extra to be installed on computers, and that would allow them to encode in high quality MP3, automatically generate podcasts after live broadcasts and insert commercials.
For Jordi Gol, technological director at Grup Flaix, what stood out most about Flumotion is that they offer "a cross-platform solution that can reach 100% of users without requiring that you first install a plugin." The COPE network has made a strong commitment to on-line content, both live and on demand (podcast). Their objective was to reach 100% of users with a leading format like MP3. To accomplish this, they were looking for a solution like Flumotion's that could be integrated into their content production routine, at their own facilities and in a transparent way, and at the same time ensure a reliable and high quality broadcast.
Moreover, they also required a solution which would allow them to broadcast their television portal Popular TV in Flash with high quality.
The different features of Flumotion’s platform won the corporate group over.

Radiotelevisión del Principado de Asturias (RTPA) was in search of a dependable, quality solution that would allow them to offer audio and video on their website as both live and recorded content. Flumotion gave them a solution in record time.

The new version of ADN, which was released in September of 2007, includes an entire section dedicated to audiovisual information: ADN.tv, which incorporates agency news and their own news program in VoD format. For this new section, the newspaper needed a flexible and dependable solution, like the one Flumotion offers, that would allow them to channel their incoming content and offer it in Flash format at the highest quality.
Alejandro García Morales, technical director of Planeta Medios Digitales, SL, the company that publishes the online newspaper, explains his decision to trust in Flumotion this way: "We chose Flumotion because of the value offered for the money. That was the first thing. Then we were very interested in the platform's versatility. And, in addition, we share a common orientation towards open source software.
